Texas Concealed Carry Institute - McKinney TX - Original CHL Class

 All original classes are 8:00AM to 6:30PM (See schedule for some weekday evening classes)

The Texas Department of Public Safety currently requires a minimum of 10 hours of training for an original license. The majority of the class is the law and other aspects of carrying a handgun for self defense.

 The State requires several instructional areas:

  • Use of Force
  • Weapons Storage and Safety
  • Weapons Laws
  • License Administration
  • Non-Violent Dispute Resolution

Practical areas:

 We also include the: Passport Photos / Notary Service

Begining 3/1/11 TDPS has made it mandatory for applicants to use the F.A.S.T. Fingerprinting locations.

Going to the State website will speed up you applicaiton process.

You pay us for the training and pay the State for the license. For State Fee’s see FAQ’s

Equipment:

  • Handgun semi or revolver .32 caliber or higher.  (For semi & revolver licenses see FAQ’s)
  • (We have loaner guns if you don’t have a gun or a semi and want a semi license.)
  • At least 50 rounds of ammo for the gun.
  • Hearing and eye protection. (We have loaners)
